A recent addition to the CTEK family of "the smartest battery chargers in the world," the Multi US 3300 contains three charging modes, and automatically and easily charges all 12V lead-acid batteries, making it perfect for motorcycles, cars, lawn mowers, jet skis and any other vehicle with batteries up to 120Ah. There is no need for any specific knowledge of batteries or their charging methods; the Multi US 3300 will take care of it. The Multi US 3300 utilizes a four-step automatic charging cycle. First, patented desulphation functionality allows for possible reconditioning of batteries that have lost significant power due nonuse. This is followed by Bulk Charging, when 80% of charging takes place; then Absorption Charging which completes charging up to virtually 100%; and finally Pulse/Maintenance Charging, in which the battery receives a pulse of electricity when the voltage drops below 95%, keeping the battery in perfect condition indefinitely when it is not used. If the battery is loaded and the battery’s terminal voltage drops to 12.9V the charger automatically switches back to the beginning of the four-step cycle. Also, the Multi US 3300 can be connected for months and it is specifically developed for seasonal vehicles. The Multi US 3300 is specifically developed for different needs, vehicles and batteries. With this in mind user have a choice between three different modes. The low-current mode (the motorcycle icon) is perfect for smaller 12V batteries such as motorbikes, lawnmowers, jet skies, snowmobiles, etc. The higher current mode (the car icon) is for automotive or marine applications with larger batteries. Finally, an additional winter mode (the snowflake) is specifically aimed at charging and maintenance in cold weather. It is also perfectly suited for Optima Red Top batteries. A very light and compact charger, but still extremely robust and water and dust resistant (IP65 classification), the Multi US 3300 is designed to charge and maintain batteries, no matter the weather, temperature or situation. The Multi US 3300 is certified for use between –4°F and +122°F. All CTEK models are designed to consider the safety of the user. They are spark free, making the connection much easier and safer considering the gases batteries normally produce. The Multi US 3300 is also protected from reverse-polarity connections and is short-circuit proof. A linear charger has a current ripple of 70–400% which is much larger than the maximum 5% for a modern sealed battery. High voltage ripple could harm other equipment that is connected to the battery. This product performs with no fuss and it appears to cycle (as it claims) to recharge a battery while reducing sulfation in an older battery. I have two deep cyle/starting batteries. One is older and one is nearly new. The charger went through many, many cycles to charge the old battery. The new battery was charged within hours. Since then I just switch the connections every few days to keep both batteries ready to go. The instructions are well written and the charger and cables seem to be of high quality. I must say I have only had this product for a few months so I can't say much about how long it will last, but it appears to be a high quality product.

My first charger arrived and did not work. I returned the charger (at Amazon's expense) and the second charger was sent "next day" via UPS. The CTEK 3300 is an extremely easy charger to use. It is small in size which is a plus. It is also less expense than the more well known charger brand. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 simply because the first charger did not work.
Great charger for my Porsche 911 January 21, 2010

Wanted to be able to charge the battery in my "Garage Queen" Porsche 911. Did some research and learned that the Porsche Battery Minder that sells for $115 (or more) is made by CTEK and is the same charger as this CTEK Multi US 3300 for around half the price. Only thing I'd like to mention is it does NOT come with the cigarette lighter plug-in but you can get that accessory for around $10 also at Amazon. Once I had both pieces (charger and cigarette lighter plug-in) my battery indicator went from needs to be charged to fully charged in a few hours. Recommended. An email to CTEK was never answered but that's not Amazon's fault.

I ordered 2 different chargers to maintain my gate opener's deep cycle battery (a simple 4 output charger with extension cords for charging other deep cycle batteries from amazon Battery Tender 022-0148-DL-WH 12V 4-Bank Battery Management System) and this unit has a far superior charging design.
The 4 bank battery tender does a simple fast rate charge then switches to a trickle charge at a constant voltage with 4 outputs.
This unit pulses the battery under charge and features 3 operating modes with different current outputs for different sized batteries. The selections are motorcycle which also works well for SLA gel cells or AGM batteries, standard automotive starting battery, deep cycle batttery, and off.
What makes the CTEK unit special is that it uses a pulse charge in all modes to attempt to desulphate batteries, while the battery tender does not. This method of charging has proven successful in restoring lead acid batteries that won't take a charge any more.
It comes with a waterproof 12V output cable and a set of clips or rings for permanent installation under the hood of your car. In addition to the LEDs for indicating the type of battery being charged, a second set is provided for empty, 1/2 full, and maintenance pulse charge mode.
There is also a noticable increase in quality between the battery tender and this unit - small details like a water sealed housing and gaskets on the connectors indicate quality in manufacture.
For a single 12V lead chemistry battery this is a useful, well made tool.

I primarily use this charger to keep the battery on my motorcycle charged up when sitting dormant for weeks at a time. The unit comes with two sets of leads that can plug into the unit. The leads consist of traditional alligator clips and eyelets. I have the eyelet leads permanently bolted to my battery with the plug accessible without having to remove the battery. The unit also comes with a nice storage pouch with a nice sleeve to keep the instructions in. The product is very streamline and easy to use. The price is very reasonable compared to other products (which are unusually big and bulky). I'm extremely satisfied with this product and highly recommend it.
